MedasDigital Client - Planet 9 Analysis
A distributed astronomical analysis client for the search of Planet 9 and other trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) using the MedasDigital blockchain infrastructure.
π Overview
The MedasDigital Client is a specialized tool designed to perform distributed astronomical data analysis for the ongoing search for Planet 9 and other distant objects in our solar system. Built on the MedasDigital blockchain, it enables researchers to contribute computational resources while maintaining transparent, verifiable, and immutable records of analysis results.
π¬ Scientific Background
Planet 9 is a hypothetical planet in the outer reaches of our solar system, first proposed based on the unusual clustering of orbits of several trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs). Status Update (2025): We are currently in the foundation phase, having completed the core blockchain infrastructure and network setup. The client development is just beginning, with focus on integrating our NVIDIA GPU infrastructure for advanced astronomical computations and AI-powered analysis capabilities.
This client will help in:
- Orbital Dynamics Analysis: Computing gravitational influences and orbital perturbations
- Sky Survey Data Processing: Analyzing telescope observations for moving objects
- Statistical Clustering: Identifying patterns in TNO orbital elements
- Photometric Analysis: Processing brightness measurements and light curves
- Astrometric Verification: Validating object positions and motion vectors
