Usage
To generate text use one of the following syntaxes. SIZE is a number in bytes (you can append K, M or G to it).
textgen [INFO-OPTION]
textgen SIZE OUTPUT {GENERATOR-OPTION}
INFO-OPTION
-help prints this help
-version prints version numer of textgen
-copyright prints copyright of textgen
GENERATOR-OPTION
-cN sets the number of logical CPUs to N
-tN sets the number of threads to N
OUTPUT
std prints to standard output (i.e. terminal)
<file name> prints to file
Example to print 100 bytes of text to standard output
$ textgen 100 std
Example to print 100 kilobytes of text to file test.txt
$ textgen 100K test.txt
Using Go
Get this project:
$ go get github.com/vbsw/textgen
Update a local copy:
$ go get -u github.com/vbsw/textgen
Compile:
$ go install github.com/vbsw/textgen
Run tests:
$ go test github.com/vbsw/textgen
Using Git
Get the master branch and all refs of this project:
$ git clone https://github.com/vbsw/textgen.git
See all tags:
$ git tag -l
See local and remote branches:
$ git branch -a
Checkout other branches than master, for example the development branch:
$ git branch development origin/development
$ git checkout development
See tracked remote branches:
$ git branch -vv
Update all tracked branches and all refs:
$ git fetch
